Trans Students Gain Support

A new poll shows Californians increasingly support transgender rights, most notable the right of students to use the restroom of their choosing.

The poll by USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times shows 52 percent of those polled are in favor of AB 1266, which requires schools to let students the bathroom of their preferred gender. The law took effect in 2014.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the poll also shows a generational divide with younger people being more supportive of LGBT rights, than older people.
