WWII Vets Graduate From LAUSD High School

Three high school buddies steal the show at their graduation ceremony after they had to drop out of high school in 1944 because they were drafted into the war.

Now at the age of 90, WWII Vets: Julian Lopez, Tony Romero, and Lupe Malacate have finally been honored and awarded a high school diploma from Abraham Lincoln High School.

According to NBC LA, it took the veterans almost 71 years and the help of Lopez’s daughter, Connie, to convince the LAUSD to recognize them as graduates.

Mr. Lopez joked around saying that they need a high school diploma to go to college since he was looking for a job!

Congratulations Vets, you definitely deserved it!
