Parkland Teacher Arrested for Leaving Loaded Gun in Public Restroom

A teacher In Parkland, Florida has been arrested for leaving a loaded pistol in a public restroom, which led to another man firing a shot.

Sean Simpson was using the restroom at the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier, when he left the weapon in the bathroom stall while he washed his hands and then walked out without it. He remembered about five minutes later, but by the time he went back to get it, a gunshot was heard.

The pier is located about 13 miles from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the site of shooting that took the lives of 17 students and teachers in February, that has since prompted walkouts, protests, calls for gun control laws, and a proposition from the Trump administration to arm teachers.

He was charged with unsafe storage of a firearm and released on a $250 bond.
