San Raphael School District Hires New Superintendent

The San Raphael School District has chosen a new superintendent in Novato schools chief Jim Hogeboom. He will take over on July 1, replacing Michael Watenpaugh.

Hogeboom was one of 24 applicants for the job. His four-year contract, which stipulates a $260,000 salary, was unanimously approved Monday night. That salary is for his first year; Hogeboom will receive scheduled raises over his tenure.

Back in Novato, Deputy Superintendent Kris Cosca is expected to be promoted to superintendent, the Marin Independent Journal reports
