Las Vegas Will Let People With Parking Tickets Donate School Supplies Instead

The Las Vegas, Nevada City Council is making an offer no parking ticket recipient can possibly refuse. Until July 19, all parking tickets issued within the city can be paid through school supply donations.

The supplies must be new and in their original packaging. Accepted items include pens; pencils; notebooks; erasers; card stock; rulers; scissors; and more. The supplies will be given to the nonprofit Teachers Exchange, which is associated with the Public Education Foundation.

The swaps occur periodically as part of an ordinance approved in 2016.
