LAUSD CFO to Head Troubled Lennox School District

The troubled Lennox School District will soon have a financial specialist from the country’s second largest school district at the helm. Dr. Scott Price, chief financial officer of Los Angeles Unified, has been appointed superintendent by the Lennox School District Board of Education. He takes over on Sept. 1.

Lennox’s last superintendent Kent Taylor stepped down in April. He was found dead inside his home two months later. Since then, a number of additional challenges facing the district have come to light.

Dr. Price is the former chief financial officer for the Los Angeles County Office of Education and has worked in education for more than two decades. In a statement, Supt. Austin Beutner said Scott Price “has served Los Angeles Unified with great integrity, compassion and skill. We thank him for his hard work and wish him the best in his new job.”
