Glendale High Music Teacher Honored on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”
A Glendale High School music teacher got a hero’s welcome on the set of singer Kelly Clarkson’s new talk show Tuesday.
Amy Rangel was among a group of music teachers honored by the former American Idol pop star. The episode aired on NBC at 2 p.m.
“It was really surprising and delightful that she would think about honoring music teachers,” Rangel told the Los Angeles Times.
Rangel and the other teachers received a tour of Universal Studios, LUMI interactive rainbow-colored keyboards, and an all-expense-paid cruise.
“It was an unbelievable experience,” said Rangel, who “spends countless hours fundraising and leading award-winning bands and orchestras,” according to the Times.
Clarkson’s mother was a teacher, so educators have a special place in her heart.
