State Launches School Dashboard Week

State school officials want to remind you that the California Dashboard is at the ready for all your school assessment needs.

This Monday marked the start of #CADashboardWeek by the California Department of Education and the State Board of Education. It’s meant to raise awareness about the two year old California School Dashboard, an online resource that allows families and teachers to gauge school performance on chronic absenteeism and suspension rates, academics, career readiness and more.

“The Dashboard is a valuable tool for both parents and educators to get a sense of what’s going on in their respective schools,” said State Superintendent Tony Thurmond in a press release announcing the “Get Into It” campaign. “Academic performance is critical but students are more than just test scores. The Dashboard evaluates important factors of student success such as engagement and school climate, and empowers local communities to identify opportunities and resources to better serve their students.”

Data for the 2018-2019 academic year will be uploaded to the Dashboard in December.

School Dashboard Week runs through Sept. 20.
