Students Tackle Gun-Toting Classmate at La Habra High School

Police say a La Habra High School student who brought a gun on campus was tackled by his fellow classmates who then wrestled the weapon from his hands.

The incident occurred Tuesday just before 9:35 a.m. when police responded. The school was placed on lockdown until after 10 a.m.

It appears the student who brought the gun was either trying to show off or sell the weapon.

La Habra police Lt. Brian Miller said the gun appears to have been unloaded, but the incident has reminded the public about the importance of vigilance when it comes to school safety.
