Anonymous Donor Pays Off School Lunch Debt in Orange County

A good samaritan has paid off the entire outstanding balance for school lunches in Orange County’s Ocean View School District. The $7,814 donation will wipe out school lunch debt for every student in the district’s schools, KTLA reports

“While OVSD works diligently with families to reconcile negative balances and children are always provided a meal regardless of their balance, this generous donation will impact more than 200 families that were struggling” OVSD said in a statement.

The donor wishes to remain anonymous. OVSD has confirmed it is a man who has lived in the community for many years and wanted to see that “children have one less thing getting the way of learning.”

The donor was inspired by a similar donation in Florida – a testament to the proliferate power of a single selfless act.
