BREAKING: Shooting at Saugus High School

Two students have been killed and five others wounded in a shooting at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita. Police responded to the scene just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning. All schools in the area were placed on lockdown and residents were told to shelter in place.

Aerial footage showed a large presence of police and fire personnel. One person was reportedly shot in the stomach.

The shooter has been described as an Asian male wearing black.

Update The shooter, a 16-year-old student at the high school, is no longer a threat. He is in custody at a local hospital in grave condition from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He is believed to have posted a message on Instagram before the shooting. 

Several victims are being treated at Henry Mayo Hospital. A reunification center was been set up at Central Park.

The two students that died have been identified as Gracie Anne Muehlberger, 15, and Dominic Blackwell, 14.
