Sylvan Union Superintendent to Retire

The Sylvan Union School District is on the lookout for a new superintendent, the Modesto Bee reports. Debra Hendricks, who has held the job for the past six years, is retiring at the end of the school year.

There are 8,300 students spread across 10 elementary schools and three middle schools in the district. It is the third largest district in Stanislaus County.

Residents can voice their opinion on the issues and leadership qualities they’re most interested in here. A number of public forums will also be held on Hendricks’ replacement.

The recruitment process is in its infancy. Finalist interviews are expected by March and officials hope to have an employment contract signed in March or April.
