Fremont Unified Hires Superintendent

The Fremont Unified School District has chosen its next superintendent. Christopher ‘CJ’ Cammack, who currently heads the Martinez Unified School District, will take over on Aug. 1.

The school board’s vote in favor of Cammack was unanimous. He’ll earn a base salary of $330,000 per year.

The district’s last superintendent, Kim Wallace, announced her resignation in March. Assistant Superintendent Raul Zamora has been carrying out her duties and will continue to do so until Aug. 1.

Cammack has previously held teaching and coaching jobs at Mount Diablo Unified and Head Royce School. He has served as a vice principal, principal, director of student services and special education, assistant superintendent of administrative services, and as assistant superintendent of human resources.
