A Group of Bay Area Principals Met to Discuss School Reopenings. Now 40 of Them Are in Quarantine.
A group of school administrators from the San Francisco Bay area recently gathered in person to discuss future plans for learning. What happened next could be sign of things to come.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that more than 40 school principals who attended the Santa Clara Unified School District event are now in quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19. They were exposed by a pre-symptomatic individual who attended the reopening meeting on June 19. That person tested positive for coronavirus a few days later.
The exposure comes amid a new coronavirus surge. California added 5,898 cases on Tuesday. Santa Clara has confirmed 4,572 total cases and 158 deaths.
