LAUSD, UTLA Reach Agreement on In-Person Tutoring and Assessments
Los Angeles Unified students who struggle academically will be getting more hands-on support under a deal reached between LAUSD and its teachers union.
“United Teachers Los Angeles reported Friday that it reached a deal with LAUSD under which teachers can offer paid in-person tutoring, student assessments and ‘targeted adult education classes,'" CBS Los Angeles reports.
The agreement covers “state or federally required assessments that are better delivered in person to students with disabilities, students learning English and academically gifted students,” according to the Los Angeles Times. “In addition, the deal covers in-person, one-on-one interaction with adult school students as necessary.”
