Martinez Unified hires new Superintendent
The Martinez Unified School District Board of Trustees appointed a new superintendent on Monday. Julie Synyard will assume the position on Oct. 12, succeeding CJ Cammack.
Synyard most recently served as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District where she developed K-12 programs. Over her 20-year career in education, she has also worked as a secondary teacher of History and English, an Activities Director and Athletic Director, and as an Assistant Principal and Principal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of California at San Diego and a master’s in Educational Leadership from St. Mary’s College. She earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.
“The MUSD Board was extremely impressed with her compelling background, her intelligence, deep understanding of school and district leadership and her enthusiasm,” said School Board President Jonathan Wright.
