In-Person Learning is On the Rise, Now Offered at All School Districts in 21 Counties

EdSource has been tracking the number of schools returning to live instruction. Its latest survey of 58 county offices of education reveals some form of in-person learning is now being offered at all districts in 21 out of the state’s 58 counties.

“Nearly all of these counties are in largely rural areas in Central and Northern California, with Orange County and San Diego County the most significant exceptions,” per EdSource. “With nearly 500,000 students, Orange County is the site of the biggest launch of in-person instruction. All but two of the county’s 27 districts are either currently offering some form of in-person instruction to some or all of their students, or plan to do so soon.”

20 out of 58 counties have a combination of learning options that vary by the school district, while 17 counties are mostly sticking to online learning.
