Lancaster Middle Schoolers to Compete in World Robotics Championship

Congratulations are in order for middle schoolers at a Lancaster school who will compete in a robotics world championship.

The Fulton & Alsbury Robotics team won the state championship a few weeks ago and are headed to the VEX World Competition in Louisville, KY in April.

According to team captain Valerie Castillo, the team only had a week to build their robot, while other schools had three months.

Castillo is breaking stereotypes as a female and as a Latina who wishes to attend MIT and enter the STEM field.

The team has created a GoFundMe to help raise money for their trip to the finals with a goal of $18,500.

We wish them the best of luck!
