PUSD Begins Vaccinating Teachers and Staff
Pasadena Unified has apparently become the first school district in California to begin vaccinating employees, beginning with those over the age of 65.
The district opened its first vaccination clinic on Jan. 21 in partnership with the Pasadena Public Health Department. Nearly 250 PUSD employees have received the jab. That number will eventually grow to more than 2,400.
“This is a major step in ensuring the safety of our employees, our students, and the community,” said Superintendent Brian McDonald.
“While the vaccine is voluntary, we are strongly encouraging all PUSD employees to get vaccinated. Getting the vaccine will help protect our staff and students as schools prepare to return to in-person learning.”
