121 Additional Schools Receive Distinguished School Awards

121 more schools have received Distinguished School awards from the California Department of Education.

The CDE named 102 recipients on March 18. On April 27, it added 120 more high schools and another middle school.

Distinguished School awards honor institutions that have demonstrated excellence in overall student performance and in closing the achievement gap.

“Our thanks go to the entire communities surrounding these schools, including the teachers, administrators, and classified employees as well as the students and their families who, through teamwork, all accomplished this impressive achievement together,” State Superintendent Toby Thurmond said.
