Anti-Maskers Shut Down Another Placentia-Yorba Linda School Board Meeting

For the second time in two weeks, a meeting of the Placentia-Yorba Linda School Board had to be shut down because attendees refused to wear face masks, the Orange County Register reports.

President Carrie Buck called an abrupt end to the meeting on Jan. 19 after reading aloud the state mandate, just minutes after the meeting began. An almost identical scene had played out a week earlier.

It wasn’t just members of the public who wanted to make a statement. Trustees Leandra Blades and Shawn Youngblood were also not wearing masks.

COVID-19 remains a hot-button issue at PYLUSD. In December, the school board voted to oppose vaccine mandates in the middle of an outbreak that sent an entire sixth-grade class into isolation.
