Former Lompoc Unified Deputy Superintendent to Head School District in Gaviota

Former Lompoc Unified School District (LUSD) Deputy Superintendent Bree Valla has been selected as the next Superintendent of Vista Del Mar Union School District (VDMUSD) in Gaviota.

Valla worked for LUSD for 22 years. She has won multiple awards, including the Latino Legacy, Lompoc Chamber Of Commerce Community Support, and Women in Leadership awards. She was also a finalist for the Association of California School Administrators Human Resources Administrator of the Year and Regional Human Resources Administrator of the Year.

“I am grateful for all that Lompoc has taught me during my tenure. I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish with Lompoc and cannot wait to be part of the Vista team,” Valla said.

VDMUSD is a single-school district in unincorporated Gaviota, serving students in K-8. The school is Vista de Las Cruces, which is located approximately 30 miles north of Santa Barbara.
