Redondo Beach Hires Next Superintendent

The Redondo Beach school board has inked a contract with Dr. Nicole Wesley to serve as RBUSD’s next chief of schools. Wesley’s employment was approved by a 5-0 vote earlier this month. She will earn $309,000 a year with 24 vacation days.

Wesley has worked for the district since 2004, most recently as assistant superintendent, overseeing human resources.

“Dr. Wesley is deeply invested in this community and all-things RBUSD,” said retiring superintendent Steven Keller, who has led the district for the past 16 years. “She is a gifted leader who will advocate for each and every single one of our kids. I applaud the board’s selection. She will take Team RBUSD to the next level.”

Wesley will take over on Jan. 1.
