CSU has projected 2022-2023 enrollment at 7% below the state-funded target of 383,680.

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s proposed budget includes a 5% increase for CSU schools, but it’s contingent on increasing enrollment.

Declining enrollment has a number of causes, including ongoing fallout from the pandemic and a declining birth rate.
