Ojai Unified Ousts Superintendent

Tiffany Morse is out as superintendent of the Ojai Unified School District. Trustees voted unanimously to approve a separation agreement with Morse on Monday – one week after a closed session performance evaluation.

Morse had led OUSD for nearly four years. The district is now financially strapped. It’s facing insolvency and a possible state takeover.

Morse and the district’s trustees characterized the separation as “mutual,” but Morse was under enormous pressure and criticism from members of the community, as well as teachers and union representatives.

Assistant Superintendent Sherril Knox will be serving as acting superintendent while the district searches for a replacement.
