Another Resignation at Carmel Unified

The wave of resignations at Carmel Unified continued last week with the departure of Chief Communications Officer Jessica Hull. She officially stepped down Monday, April 24, less than two years into the job.

Hull was hired in September 2021. For six years prior, she served as the communications and public relations officer for the Monterey County Office of Education. She is currently President of the California School Public Relations Association.

The district has been spiraling since February when the school board voted to reassign a local principal for allegedly mishandling sexual harassment allegations. Since then, the district has seen the resignations of former school board president Tess Arthur, Title IX consultant Megan Farrell, and now Hull. Last month, Superintendent Ted Knight was placed on leave pending a review.

Carmel River Elementary School Principal Jay Marden has also told the Monterey Herald that he will retire from his position in June.
