Smarter Balance Test Scores: How Did Your School Perform?

The California Department of Education (CDE) released results Wednesday from the 2023 Smarter Balanced assessments in Math and English. Overall, the scores remained mostly flat between 2022 and 2023.

Statewide, the percentage of students who meet or exceed the standards for English and Math are 46.66% and 34.62% respectively. In 2022, those figures were 47.06% and 33.38%.

For the state’s largest district, Los Angeles Unified, 41.17% of students met or exceeded English standards in 2023 – a -0.53% decrease from the previous year. 30.5% of students met or exceeded math standards, which represents a 2.01% improvement.
