Jobs Cuts Planned as Santa Rosa City Schools Runs Out of COVID Funds

Santa Rosa City Schools joins a growing list of school districts that are considering job cuts as one-time COVID-19 relief funds dry up.

SRSC said this week that, while no final decisions have been made, layoffs are likely coming. The school board must present a balanced budget to the county by July 1.

“The Board will need to consider reducing staff, including positions at both the district and school levels,” SRSC told KRON 4. “Preliminary notices will be going out to staff within the next two weeks… We will make every attempt to make reductions as far away from the classrooms as possible.”
