Erin O'Neill to Lead MetroED

The Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) Governing Board has chosen a new superintendent to lead the district, which provides Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education in Northern California.

Erin O'Neill was appointed to the post, effective July 1, 2024. MetroED’s current superintendent Alyssa Lynch is leaving in June after 11 years at the helm.

“I am honored and delighted to be selected as the new superintendent of MetroED,” said O'Neill, who most recently served as Interim Dean of Career and Technical Education for Woodland Community College. “Our programs, led by passionate experts, foster student aspirations, knowledge, and skills. These experiences set our students apart. I can’t wait to collaborate with our students, staff, and community partners to continue advancing excellence and innovation!”

O’Neill has worked in education for over 25 years. She previously served as Executive Director of College, Career, & Life Readiness at the Peninsula School District and as Director of Career and College Readiness of the Seattle Public Schools.
