Orange Unified School Board Welcomes Two New Trustees

Two trustees were appointed to the Orange Unified School Board Thursday night. Sara Pelly (Area 4) and Stephen Glass (Area 7) replace Madison Miner and Rick Ledesma, who were recalled by voters in the March 5 election. Both appointees were approved by a unanimous vote and will serve until the next regularly scheduled school board election.

Pelly most recently served as principal of Fletcher Academy in the Orange Unified School District.

“Mrs. Pelly was my daughter’s first principal, [her] first experience in elementary school,” Board President Ana Page recalled. “I have seen, not just from my own children, but from all children that she has influenced. Students always remember how their teacher or their principal made them feel.”

Glass is a professor at California State University, Long Beach, and has also served as a principal or assistant principal at multiple school districts in Southern California.
